Children's Banner and Poster Painting at Houston Hall
Children of all ages will paint commemorative MLK banners and posters that reflect Dr. King’s legacy while listening to stories about Dr. King's life. Adult supervision of children is required.
Helping Hands at Houston Hall
Create personal gifts that will be donated to West Philadelphia area shelters, nursing homes, hospitals, and other charities.

Philadelphia Reads: Literacy Project at Houston Hall
Learn how to sort books into age appropriate groupings and create books on tape to promote literacy for Philadelphia's youth

Paint, Clean Up and Spruce Up Project in West Philadelphia
Volunteers will be participating in a painting and sprucing up West Philadelphia High School.  Transportation will be provided; meet at 3417 Spruce St.; Register in advance at the MLK website. Refreshments will be served.   Note: Volunteers are also need on Friday, January 12, 2007 to prepare this site for painting on Monday, January 15, 2007.

Day of Service Breakfast@ 8:00am
Start the day with a free continental breakfast. Mr. Kofi Asante, Executive Director for the Comprehensive Center for Fathers will be the speaker. President Amy Gutmann will greet the community.  Please register in advance.
